DERBY — A Derby man has been arrested in connection with an aggravated domestic assault that occurred last week, according to Vermont State Police.
Police said Burton Jacobs Jr., 57, assaulted and injured a household member at a private residence on U.S. Route 5 in Derby Line at approximately 11:05 a.m. on Feb. 19.
Investigators determined that Jacobs struck the victim in the face with a blunt weapon.
Jacobs was not immediately located following the incident, police said.
On Feb. 25, Jacobs was arrested with assistance from Vermont Department of Corrections probation and parole officers.
Police said he was on probation for a recent domestic assault conviction.
Jacobs was taken to the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks for processing.
He was lodged as a probationer by DOC officers and issued a citation to appear in court, police said.
