CHESTERFIELD — A traffic stop on Route 9 led to the seizure of more than 280 grams of crack cocaine and a large amount of cash, police said.
Officer Shawn Collins stopped a black 2025 Chevy Malibu for speeding near Cross Road at approximately 7:09 p.m. on Dec. 24.
During the stop, a roadside investigation was conducted, and the vehicle was seized pending a search warrant.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of the drugs and cash, authorities said.
Delmas Ortiz, 31, of Brattleboro was charged earlier this month by indictment for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, subsequent offense.
