BOSTON — Police arrested a suspect Tuesday in connection with two recent bank robberies in the city.

Jeremy Woodley, 44, of Boston, was taken into custody at about 11:50 a.m. in the area of Dalkeith Street and Howard Avenue.

He was charged with armed robbery and being a fugitive from justice, police said.

Woodley is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

The first robbery occurred at about 9:59 a.m. on Feb. 20, when officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress at 1320 Washington St. in the South End.

Police said the suspect had passed a note to a bank teller stating that he had a gun.

No weapon was seen, and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

The second robbery took place at about 9:36 a.m. on Feb. 21 at 580 Washington St. in Downtown.

Police said the suspect used the same method, passing a note to a teller claiming to have a gun before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.

No weapon was seen in this incident either.

Members of the Bank Robbery Task Force, along with detectives from the Special Investigations Unit and multiple police districts, launched a joint investigation.

Security footage from both robberies led investigators to determine that the same suspect was involved in each case.

Detectives tracked the suspect to a location in Dorchester before his arrest, police said.
