SENNETT — Deputies arrested an Auburn woman on impaired driving and unauthorized vehicle use charges following a single-car crash in the town of Sennett, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies and a New York State Trooper responded to Grant Avenue Road near Weedsport-Sennett Road at 10:22 a.m. Feb. 22 for a motor vehicle accident, Sheriff Brian Schenck said.

Authorities determined the driver, Tiffany A. Skarr, 34, of Auburn, needed medical assistance, and emergency crews responded.

Auburn City Ambulance transported Skarr to Auburn Community Hospital, officials said.

Deputies continued to investigate and determined Skarr had been driving while impaired by drugs.

They also found she had been operating the vehicle without the owner’s consent, according to the sheriff’s office.

Skarr was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and unauthorized use of a vehicle, also a misdemeanor, along with vehicle and traffic offenses, officials said.

She was issued tickets to appear in Sennett Town Court at 5 p.m. March 12 for the impaired driving and traffic offenses.

The unauthorized use charge occurred in Auburn, and Skarr was issued a separate appearance ticket for Auburn City Court at 9:15 a.m. March 10.

She is currently being held at the Cayuga County Jail on unrelated charges, officials said.
