ROCKLAND — Rockland police arrested a man in connection with an assault and robbery that occurred earlier this month in the city’s industrial park.

Police received a report of the incident on Feb. 13, and detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division determined the assailant and victim knew each other.

Officials said the attack was targeted.

Investigators obtained multiple arrest warrants and on Feb. 24 took Bronson Simmons, 36, into custody.

Simmons, a transient, was charged with felony robbery, theft, criminal threatening and aggravated assault.

During Simmons’ arrest, officers also detained Danielle Demeritt, 39, for an unrelated outstanding warrant for theft and violation of conditions of release.

Demeritt, also a transient, was on probation at the time.

Authorities said both Simmons and Demeritt were out on probation for other offenses when the new crimes occurred.

The investigation is ongoing, and police expect additional arrests.
