DANBURY — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Newtown Road, police said.
Danbury police said officers responded at approximately 6:42 p.m. Feb. 22 to a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash near the intersection of Newtown Road and Eagle Road.
Officers found a pedestrian lying in the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
The pedestrian was taken to Danbury Hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries and later died on Feb. 23, police said.
Newtown Road was closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene.
