BOSTON — Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Reheem Buckmire, 30, of Dorchester, on firearm-related charges Monday night.

Police said the arrest happened at about 10:08 p.m. near Babson Street and Norfolk Street after officers saw a vehicle without a front license plate and with excessively tinted windows.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at Norfolk Street and Mildred Avenue.

The driver did not have her license or registration, and officers noticed the front-seat passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.

When the passenger, later identified as Buckmire, reached for his wallet, officers saw the barrel of a firearm between his legs, police said.

Officers ordered Buckmire out of the vehicle and observed him reaching toward the floor.

He was removed from the car and placed in handcuffs, according to authorities.

Police recovered a Glock 45 handgun inside the vehicle, loaded with 19 rounds in an extended magazine.

Buckmire is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Court on multiple firearm-related charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device, and unlawful possession of ammunition.
