OWASCO — Deputies arrested Andrew C. Leader, 44, of Auburn on Feb. 19 at 6:45 p.m. on charges of second-degree criminal contempt, an A-misdemeanor, and aggravated family offense, an E-felony, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies and a New York State Trooper responded at 6:13 p.m. to a residence in Owasco for a welfare check after a complainant reported receiving a text message from a friend at the home requesting help, officials said.
Deputies found Leader at the residence with the victim in violation of a full stay-away order of protection issued by Auburn City Court, authorities said.
The victim was unharmed.
Due to previous domestic violence convictions, Leader was charged with aggravated family offense in addition to second-degree criminal contempt, investigators said.
Leader was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment and remanded to Cayuga County Jail without bail due to prior felony convictions, officials said.
