DERBY — Troopers with the Vermont State Police stopped a vehicle for excessive speed late Feb. 22 on US Route 5.
A vehicle was observed traveling 81 mph in a posted 35 mph zone.
Troopers initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Jake LeBlanc, 21, of Newport.
LeBlanc was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for Title 23 VSA 1003 State Speed Zones with a fine of $682.
He was also issued a citation to appear in court on a charge of excessive speed.
