PROVIDENCE — Troopers arrested two men in separate incidents Friday on larceny-related charges, according to Rhode Island State Police.

At 11:05 a.m., troopers arrested Eric Reese, 59, of Woonsocket, on an active Fourth Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for a pretrial conference.

The warrant stemmed from a larceny charge originating from the State Police Wickford Barracks.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Clifford Street in Providence.

Reese was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing before being taken to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center pending arraignment.

At 7:30 p.m., troopers arrested Jose De Brito Filho, 36, of Pawtucket, on an affidavit and arrest warrant charging him with larceny over $1,500, obstructing an officer, and disorderly conduct.

The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

The arrest followed East Providence police taking custody of De Brito Filho.

He was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court date.
