OWEGO — The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Waverly man on an active arrest warrant for violating probation.
Jason R. Relyea, 35, was taken into custody on Feb. 19 after officers from the Elmira Police Department stopped his vehicle and discovered the outstanding warrant issued in Tioga County.
Relyea was transported to the Tioga County Jail and is scheduled to appear before Judge Schumacher in Tioga County Court at a later date.
In a separate case, deputies arrested Edward J. Wirth, 21, of Friendsville, Pennsylvania, on Feb. 9 after responding to a motor vehicle crash on Sulphur Springs Road in the Town of Owego.
An investigation determined Wirth was operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, along with other violations of New York State’s Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Wirth was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to be arraigned in Town of Owego Court at a later date.
