CHARLOTTE — A single-vehicle crash closed a section of US Route 7 in Charlotte for approximately an hour on Friday evening.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the intersection of Claflin Farm Road.

According to the Vermont State Police, Jacob Cook, 30, of Pittsford, was traveling north on US Route 7 when he lost control of his 2006 Volvo XC90.

The vehicle went off the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

The crash caused electrical wires to fall and block the roadway, prompting its closure for about an hour.

Cook was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and reported no injuries.

The Charlotte and Ferrisburgh Fire Departments assisted at the scene.

Road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the incident.
