BOSTON — At about 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Colbert Eden, 37, of Roxbury, for firearm charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Seaver Street when they observed a motor vehicle operating at a high rate of speed.

Officers continued to observe the vehicle weaving through traffic and abruptly cutting off other vehicles.

Officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and American Legion Highway.

As officers approached the vehicle, they observed the operator place a black mask over his head.

Officers also noted the vehicle’s windows had an extremely dark tint and requested the operator to roll the windows down.

The operator complied slightly and handed the officer his license and registration.

After further investigation, officers requested that the operator exit the vehicle.

A pat frisk of the operator revealed two knives in his pockets.

Officers continued to search the vehicle and recovered a firearm inside.

The firearm was later identified as an Arminius HW7 with eight rounds in the cylinder.

Eden was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
