SARATOGA — State Police arrested a Saratoga man on child exploitation charges following an investigation and search warrant execution at his home.
Nathaniel O. Chaput, 27, was taken into custody on Feb. 14 after authorities alleged he had promoted and possessed images consistent with child sexual exploitation.
The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
State Police, with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, conducted the inquiry.
Chaput was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.
He was arrested at his residence and transported to SP Saratoga for processing.
Chaput was later arraigned in Saratoga Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash, $20,000 bond, or $100,000 partially secured bond.
