MACOMB — State Police responded to a fully engulfed structure fire on State Highway 58 at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Feb. 14.
Local fire departments extinguished the fire and entered the residence, where they discovered an individual deceased inside.
State Police consulted with the New York Fire Investigator at the scene, who determined the fire was accidental and showed no signs of suspicious activity.
The St. Lawrence County Coroner was present and ordered the removal of the deceased.
An autopsy was conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 15 at Glens Falls Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the individual or the cause and manner of death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
