Rowley police warn residents of phone scam

1 min read

ROWLEY — Police are warning residents about a phone scam in which callers are impersonating law enforcement officials to solicit money.

According to the Rowley Police Department, scammers are spoofing the department’s business line when contacting residents.

Callers then transfer victims to individuals posing as the FBI.

Authorities emphasized that neither the Rowley Police Department nor the FBI will ever call to request money.

Residents who receive such calls are urged to hang up immediately and avoid providing personal or financial information.
