STAMFORD — A serious injury collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian occurred in the 400 block of West Main Street on Sunday, Feb. 16, at approximately 7 a.m.
A 2008 Lexus SUV struck a 57-year-old Stamford resident while traveling westbound on West Main Street.
The pedestrian sustained very serious injuries and was transported to Stamford Hospital, where they were later admitted to the intensive care unit.
The Lexus fled the scene after the collision.
Officers from the Stamford Police Department’s Patrol Division used multiple investigative techniques to identify the vehicle and locate the possible operator.
The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad took over the investigation and executed a search warrant for the vehicle, which was brought to the Stamford Police Department for evidence processing.
The suspected operator, a 43-year-old Stamford resident, was interviewed but invoked their right to counsel and declined to speak with police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
