Fire crews respond to hazardous tree incident in Mayfield

MAYFIELD — The Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company responded to a hazardous condition involving a tree across wires on State Highway 30 south of Kettle Road in the Town of Mayfield on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 7:42 p.m.

Units were dispatched to the scene after the incident was reported.

BKFC Fire Police managed traffic at Black Street (County Highway 106), while the Perth Volunteer Fire Company closed Route 30 at County Highway 107.

Officials reported that a utility pole was severed in half during the incident.

National Grid was notified to address the situation.
