WESTFIELD — A stolen dump truck crashed early Friday morning after being pursued by authorities, and the suspect fled the scene in a white sedan.
The Vermont State Police received a report at 3:25 a.m. that a plow/dump truck had been stolen from the Westfield Town garage.
Later in the morning, the vehicle was spotted traveling on VT Route 100 near the intersection of VT Route 100C in the Eden area.
The truck continued north on VT Route 100 before going off the road near the Eden/Lowell town line.
An unidentified male was seen exiting the dump truck and entering a white sedan, which was last seen traveling north on VT Route 100.
