GUILDERLAND — Two New Jersey men were arrested on February 14, 2025, following an undercover investigation into a potential scam targeting a senior resident in the Town of Guilderland.
The Guilderland Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit responded to a complaint from a senior resident who believed they were a victim of a scam.
An undercover officer delivered a package, reportedly containing $31,000 in U.S. currency, to the agreed location at the Hannaford parking lot on 5239 Western Avenue.
During the operation, one suspect, Nicholas T. Bialobzreski, 21, of Jersey City, NJ, was taken into custody after accepting the package.
A second suspect, Max Baraiya, 21, also of Jersey City, NJ, fled the scene but was apprehended shortly afterward by Guilderland police.
Both men were charged with attempted grand larceny in the third degree, a class E felony. They were arraigned in Guilderland Town Court and released under the supervision of probation.
The Guilderland Police Department commended the efforts of its officers in preventing the scam and protecting the community.
