WELLS — A New York man escaped injury after his truck crashed into a utility pole in Wells on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:14 p.m. on Feb. 13 on North St near the area of 1201 North St.
According to the Vermont State Police, Bryan Ricketts, 32, of Whitehall, NY, was operating a 2022 Ford F150 southbound on North St when the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The crash caused significant damage to both the vehicle and the utility pole, resulting in the truck being totaled.
Ricketts was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and reported no injuries.
The Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks responded to the scene and were assisted by the Wells Fire Department, Green Mountain Power, and R&D Towing.
Road conditions at the time were described as wet blacktop, and the weather was cloudy.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
