FAIR HAVEN — A local woman was arrested last month following a reported citizen dispute that allegedly involved a physical altercation with a child.
Samantha J. Smith, 37, of Fair Haven, was arrested on Jan. 21 after police responded to a reported dispute on Main Street.
The incident occurred on Jan. 12 at 8:00 p.m. when officers were called to the scene.
Through investigation, police determined that Smith allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with another individual and a 6-year-old child.
Authorities said Smith allegedly punched the child in the stomach during the dispute.
Smith was issued a citation to appear in Rutland District Court to answer to a charge of simple assault.
