ROYALTON — A Burlington man was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs following a vehicle slide-off on Interstate 89.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:21 a.m. near Exit 3 in Royalton.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks responded to the scene after receiving reports of the slide-off.
During the investigation, troopers identified the driver as Ghanashyam Adhikari, 38, of Burlington.
Authorities observed signs of impairment and subsequently arrested Adhikari on suspicion of DUI.
Adhikari was transported to the Royalton Barracks for processing.
He was later released with a criminal citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, on April 29 at 8:30 a.m.
