BOSTON — At about 5:03 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, officers from the Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Unit in East Boston arrested two individuals and seized 140 grams of narcotics during a drug investigation.

Officers were conducting surveillance in the area of 100 Brandywine Drive when they observed a parked vehicle linked to prior drug-related arrests.

A female occupant was seen in the vehicle, followed by a male entering with a large plastic bag. The vehicle then drove to Saratoga Street and parked in a nearby lot.

Officers witnessed a male exit a van and approach the passenger side of the suspect vehicle. After a brief interaction, the male returned to his van and left the area.

Police believed a drug transaction had occurred and attempted to follow the suspect vehicle but lost sight of it due to heavy traffic.

Officers requested assistance to stop the van, which was pulled over near Bennington Street and Swift Street. Nine plastic bags of fentanyl were recovered, and the driver was issued a summons for trafficking crack cocaine.

At about 5:40 p.m., officers spotted the suspect vehicle again near Bennington Street and Saratoga Street. They observed two individuals enter the vehicle, which then made abrupt turns before dropping off the passengers.

Officers stopped the two individuals and recovered a plastic bag of fentanyl. One suspect was issued a summons for possession of Class A and Class B substances.

Additional officers stopped the suspect vehicle near Suffolk Downs. The operator was detained without incident, while the passenger threw a bag out the window.

The bag contained 31 plastic bags of fentanyl, cocaine, and 25 bags of crack cocaine. In total, 85 grams of fentanyl and 55 grams of crack cocaine were seized, along with $7,727 in cash.

Danny Hernandez, 35, of Lowell, and Anny Perdomo-Santana, 34, of Dorchester, were arrested and charged with trafficking and distribution of Class A and Class B substances. Hernandez faces an additional charge of possession with intent to distribute Class A.

Both are expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
