FAIR HAVEN — A 19-year-old New York man was arrested last month after allegedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop.
Kyle O. Lavin of Whitehall, N.Y., was charged with attempting to elude following an incident on Jan. 25.
At approximately 3 p.m. that day, Fair Haven police attempted to stop Lavin for speeding on Route 4.
Officers observed Lavin traveling between 65 and 86 mph.
When police tried to pull him over, Lavin allegedly fled at a high rate of speed into New York state.
A short time later, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office located Lavin in the village of Whitehall.
During an interview, Lavin admitted to fleeing from police.
He was arrested and released to appear in Rutland District Court to answer to the charge.
