BARTON — Vermont State Police are searching for Robert Dragon, 34, warning he should be considered “extremely dangerous” following a series of incidents Tuesday across the Northeast Kingdom.
Dragon fled from police in a stolen blue Volvo XC6 around noon, driving through a construction zone on Burton Hill Road in Barton after refusing officers’ commands to exit his vehicle.
Two associates were arrested after fleeing in a second stolen vehicle, a Toyota Camry, which police later found abandoned in Irasburg.
Jessica Hunt, 34, and Jeremy Somerset, 49, both of Eden, were discovered hiding in a nearby shed and charged with unlawful trespass.
Dragon faces multiple warrants, including a $500 bail warrant from Orleans County for eluding police and a $2,500 warrant from Washington County for felony vehicle theft. New charges include felony eluding and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Police describe Dragon as white, approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build. The stolen Volvo has not been recovered.
Anyone spotting Dragon should call 911 immediately and not approach him. Tips can be provided to state police at 802-334-8881.
