KEENE — Attorney General John M. Formella and Keene Police Chief Steven M. Stewart announced Tuesday that arrests have been made in connection with the investigation into the death of Justina Steffy, 31, whose body was recovered in Warwick, Massachusetts, on Oct. 23, 2024.

Investigators determined that Steffy died inside a residence in Keene on Oct. 13, 2024, as a result of a fatal drug overdose.

Her body was later removed from the residence and disposed of in Warwick.

An autopsy conducted by the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide, caused by the combined toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, and xylazine.

Andrea Martin, 42, has been charged with dispensing a controlled drug with death resulting, in violation of RSA 318-B:26, IX.

It is alleged that Martin, aided by another, knowingly sold or dispensed to Steffy a controlled drug containing fentanyl, which led to her death.

Martin is also charged with falsifying physical evidence in connection with the removal and disposal of Steffy’s body.

Martin and Christian Torruellas, 32, face additional charges, including kidnapping and trafficking in persons.

The kidnapping charges allege that the two confined an adult female under their control with the intent to terrorize her or others.

The trafficking charges allege that Martin and Torruellas compelled another adult victim to perform labor or services against their will through threats, confinement, and control of addictive substances.

Martin is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:00 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Eighth Circuit Court, Keene District Division.

Torruellas’ arraignment date is pending, as he is currently incarcerated on unrelated federal charges.

The charges against Martin and Torruellas are accusations, and both are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
