Police investigate breaking and entering in Northbridge

NORTHBRIDGE — On Thursday, February 6, at approximately 6:16 p.m., the Northbridge Police Department received a report from a resident on Samuel Drive regarding a breaking and entering in progress at his home.

Officers responded to the residence and conducted a search but did not find anyone inside.

Assistance was provided by officers from several agencies, including K9 and drone units, who conducted a thorough search of the area.

Following an extensive investigation, officers identified a suspect.

A search warrant was obtained through Uxbridge District Court for the suspect’s residence.

The warrant was served on the afternoon of February 7 by the Northbridge Police Department and members of the Blackstone Valley Drug and Counter Crime Task Force.

During the search, several evidentiary items were located, and a male, Stanley Vasquez, was arrested.

Vasquez is being charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 266, Section 16A.

The Northbridge Police Department expressed gratitude to the Uxbridge Police Department, Sutton Police Department, Webster Police Department, Charlton Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police for their assistance in the investigation.
