NAUGATUCK — A Naugatuck man has been arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a child, and possession of a controlled substance after driving with an 11-month-old infant in the vehicle on Feb. 4.
Police were called to an address in Naugatuck for a missing persons complaint and were informed that the infant may have been in a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Dakota Harding, who was possibly under the influence.
Concerns were also raised that the infant had not eaten for several hours.
Officers located the vehicle on South Main Street and observed Harding with the infant inside.
While speaking to Harding, police noticed signs of impairment and observed narcotics in the vehicle.
A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) was requested to assist with the investigation.
Harding was held on a $250,000 bond and arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on the morning of Feb. 5.
