ORANGE — A 34-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot at a nightclub early Friday morning, police said.
The victim was brought to Yale New Haven Hospital by private car at approximately 12:42 a.m. on Feb. 7, according to the Orange Police Department.
A witness told hospital security that the shooting occurred at Top Quality Vibez nightclub, located at 501 Boston Post Road.
Officers dispatched to the scene found blood and spent shell casings near the club’s door, which was closed and locked.
Detectives secured evidence at the crime scene and from the victim’s personal effects at the hospital.
Initial investigations revealed that many patrons were present at the club when the shooting took place, but no 911 calls or notifications were made to the police or emergency responders.
The club owner has not responded to numerous contact attempts by detectives.
The shooter has not yet been identified, and the victim remains in critical condition while receiving treatment.
