SCITUATE — Rhode Island State Police arrested two men in separate incidents this week, one facing multiple fraud charges and the other on a bench warrant for drug possession.

On Tuesday, February 4, at 8:30 a.m., troopers arrested Charles Pruenca, 55, of Warwick, on multiple warrants, including charges of fraudulent checks, unlawful appropriation, obtaining money under false pretenses, and embezzlement.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Scituate Barracks and the Violent Fugitive Task Force. Pruenca was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and later presented as a probation violator at Third District Court.

On Wednesday, February 5, at 1:23 a.m., troopers arrested Michael Mihaich, 33, of Berkley, Massachusetts, on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Mihaich was taken into custody during a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in Johnston. He was processed at the Scituate Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institute – Men’s Intake.
