CUMBERLAND — A 39-year-old man was arrested today for multiple break-ins and an outstanding fugitive warrant, according to the Cumberland Police Department.

Troy Stone, a resident of Mendon Road, is accused of breaking into With Heart and Soul, a boutique gift store at 3751 Mendon Road, on Jan. 22 and stealing over $150,000 in merchandise.

Cumberland Police Chief Matthew J. Benson, Ed.D., stated that detectives identified Stone through an intensive investigation.

The police believe Stone is also responsible for break-ins at three other local businesses: Khoury’s Tavern, Cumberland Farms, and One Stop Deli.

He faces breaking and entering and felony larceny charges for these incidents, with additional charges pending.

Stone, who has a history of arrests for similar crimes in Massachusetts and Connecticut, was taken into custody at his home earlier this morning.

He also had an active warrant for being a fugitive from justice out of Connecticut.

Chief Benson commended the detectives for their work and collaboration with law enforcement across state lines, as well as the use of the Flock camera network.

Stone is set to be arraigned later today by a Justice of the Peace.
