WATERBURY — A major drug bust conducted by the Waterbury Police Department and several other law enforcement agencies on Jan. 28 led to the arrest of Thomas Goethe, 43, along with the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash.
The coordinated efforts of the Waterbury Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, Gang Task Force, Connecticut State Police Violent Crime Task Force, and Auto Theft Unit culminated in the execution of a search and seizure warrant at Goethe’s residence at 56 Wildwood Avenue and his vehicle, a Dodge Magnum.
During the operation, officers apprehended Goethe on Bronson Street and subsequently confiscated a substantial amount of illegal substances and weapons from his home and vehicle.
The seizure included 145 glassine bags of heroin, 244 grams of crack cocaine, 61 pills of controlled substances, two 9mm handguns equipped with a high-capacity magazine, over 200 rounds of ammunition, materials for packaging narcotics, and more than $2,000 in cash.
Goethe has been charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of half an ounce or more of cocaine in freebase form, possession of a hallucinogenic substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, criminal possession of a firearm or ammunition, illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine, illegal sale/transfer of a firearm, and tampering with evidence.
