LANDGROVE — Vermont State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on VT RT 11 near Landgrove Hollow Rd. on Jan. 30 at about 3:01 p.m., which left one driver with minor injuries.
Elizabeth Blackwood, 37, of Danby, was driving a 2011 Nissan Armada when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle due to the slippery road conditions caused by the ongoing snowfall.
The Armada veered into the westbound lane and struck a 2022 Toyota Sienna, driven by Tonya Benson, 47, of Manchester.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.
Blackwood’s vehicle sustained significant damage to the front end and the front passenger’s side corner panel and hood, but she did not sustain any injuries.
Benson suffered minor injuries and was transported to Southern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) for treatment.
Her vehicle also incurred damage to the front end and the front driver’s side corner panel and hood.
Vermont State Police have stated that the crash is still under investigation, but it appears that the snowy and slush-covered road conditions were a contributing factor.
Authorities remind drivers to exercise caution while driving during adverse weather conditions.
