BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department District D-4 apprehended a suspect Wednesday evening following an attempted burglary that led to a stabbing in the South End.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., police responded to a call at the intersection of Warren Avenue and West Brookline Street.
The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Kejaun Latney of Malden, was spotted fleeing the scene and was chased down by officers.
Latney was captured outside 156 Warren Avenue with visible blood on his hands and a 5-inch steak knife in his sweatshirt pocket.
He also had a non-life-threatening stab wound and was taken into custody after resisting arrest.
Another team of officers found a male victim at 177 Warren Avenue with multiple stab wounds.
Boston EMS transported him to a local hospital for treatment.
The investigation revealed Latney had allegedly attacked a woman, attempting to silence her screams before her husband intervened, leading to the stabbing.
Latney is being treated for his injuries and will face charges including armed burglary and assault with a dangerous weapon in Boston Municipal Court.
