Carver police investigate fatal single-vehicle crash

CARVER — Police Chief Marc Duphily, Fire Chief Craig Weston, and EMS Chief Michael Ryan have reported that their departments responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.

At about 12:54 p.m., Carver Police, Fire, and EMS were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Federal Road.

Upon arrival, they found a pickup truck that had collided with a tree, trapping the driver inside.

Firefighters managed to quickly extricate the driver from the wrecked vehicle.

The individual was then transported by Carver EMS ambulance to Tobey Hospital in Wareham, where they were pronounced dead.

During the emergency response, Boston MedFlight provided assistance to Carver EMS.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Carver Police Department.

They are being aided by State Police Detectives from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, as well as the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section.
