BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District C-11 apprehended a suspect and recovered a stolen firearm in Dorchester on Thursday.
At around 3:45 p.m., police responded to a call reporting an individual with a gun at 91 Waldeck Street.
There, they encountered 20-year-old Misael Barros, who appeared to be hiding a weapon.
Barros’ behavior, including his reluctance to remove his hand from his jacket pocket, raised suspicions among the officers, prompting them to detain him.
A frisk resulted in the discovery of a black Ruger SR40 firearm with a high-capacity magazine and 13 rounds of ammunition.
The weapon had been reported stolen from Manchester, New Hampshire.
Barros, a Dorchester resident, was arrested and faces several charges, including carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a loaded firearm without a license, possessing a large-capacity firearm, and receiving stolen property.
He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
