GREENWICH — A local man was apprehended on Saturday for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery at a business on East Putnam Avenue.
Jaden C. Williams, 24, was taken into custody by Greenwich Police Department and faces charges including first-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny following the incident that took place earlier that day.
Detectives, believing evidence was located at Williams’ residence, successfully obtained and executed a search warrant.
During the search, authorities discovered a black pistol resembling a Glock, with two empty 10-round 9mm magazines, inside a Vault pistol case.
A function test indicated the weapon was operable and could fire live rounds.
Notably, the firearm lacked serial numbers, leading to additional charges against Williams for carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal manufacturing, and possession of a firearm with no serial number.
The Greenwich Police Department commended the officers involved in the swift and safe resolution of the case.
