WATERBURY — Troopers arrested a 25-year-old Waterbury man late Monday night after he allegedly threatened someone with bolt cutters in a local deli parking lot.
State Police responded to Crossroads Beverage and Deli at 10:35 p.m. after receiving reports of Steven Byrd chasing an individual with what appeared to be a pipe-wrench.
Upon arrival, troopers located Byrd and determined the tool in question was actually a pair of bolt cutters.
Although no physical assault occurred, Byrd’s behavior was deemed violent and threatening.
He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Berlin State Police Barracks for processing.
Byrd was subsequently issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division, to face charges for disorderly conduct.
