TROY — A 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary after allegedly breaking into a residence on Loop Rd, authorities said Tuesday.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Derby Barracks responded to a reported burglary in progress around 3:08 p.m. Monday.

They found that Nicole Richardson, of Troy, had forcefully entered the home of 68-year-old Kim Richardson by breaking a window.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Nicole Richardson had two outstanding warrants issued in Orleans County.

The warrants were for assault and robbery, with a bail of $2,500, and unlawful trespass into an occupied residence and criminal threatening, with a bail set at $500.

Richardson was taken into custody without incident and processed at the Derby Barracks.

She was subsequently lodged at the Northern State Correction Facility due to the inability to post the $500 bail.
