Simsbury police seek suspect in armed gas station robbery

SIMSBURY — A robbery at the Simsbury Mini Mart/BP Gas Station prompted an emergency 911 call on Jan. 28 at approximately 5:08 p.m., according to the Simsbury Police Department.

Authorities reported that an adult male wielding a knife entered the convenience store at 955 Hopmeadow Street, demanding money before fleeing on foot.

In response to the incident, a nearby private school was placed into temporary lockdown as a precaution.

The lockdown has since been lifted after police determined there was no longer a threat to the community.

While no physical injuries occurred during the robbery, the Simsbury Police Department is actively pursuing leads in the case and encourages anyone with information to assist their investigation.
