CAMPTON — A local man has been arrested on numerous sex crime charges after a months-long investigation by the Campton Police Department.

Christopher Adams, 51, was taken into custody on Jan. 29 in Manchester, NH, after hiding inside a wall in a residence to evade law enforcement.

Adams was charged with seven counts of incest, four counts of bestiality, cruelty to animals, and violation of privacy.

The arrest followed a search warrant executed in November, which led to the discovery of evidence and the issuance of arrest warrants for Adams.

However, Adams fled Campton in an attempt to avoid arrest, leading to a collaborative effort among multiple law enforcement agencies to locate him.

Despite an unsuccessful search on Jan. 17 after Adams fled from a Campton residence, investigators continued to pursue leads that eventually directed them to Manchester, NH.

With the assistance of the Grafton County Sheriff’s Department, New Hampshire State Police, Manchester, NH Police Department, and the United States Marshals Service, Adams was apprehended and is now being held without bail on preventative detention.

Adams is awaiting his appearance in the Plymouth Court, where he will face the charges brought against him.

The Campton Police Department has not released further details regarding the investigation or the circumstances of his arrest.
