LINCOLN — Rhode Island State Police arrested two men in separate incidents at the Lincoln Woods Barracks on Wednesday.

At 3:50 p.m., troopers took 31-year-old Miguel Rodriguez of Cranston into custody for his involvement in a hit-and-run accident that resulted in vehicle damage.

The arrest followed an investigation of the incident that took place on Route 95 and concluded with Rodriguez being located at his home address of 89 Chestnut Avenue.

Rodriguez was transported to the barracks where he was processed and held overnight, awaiting arraignment the next morning.

Later that evening, at 6:15 p.m., Christopher Ortega, 27, from Providence, was arrested on an active court bench warrant for failing to appear at an arraignment.

The original charge against Ortega was for driving with a suspended license, an offense originating from State Police Headquarters.

Ortega, residing at 47 Corinth Street, had turned himself in at the barracks.

He was processed and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, then released with a future court date set in the Sixth District Court.
