PLYMOUTH — A Plymouth man has been sentenced to state prison after pleading guilty to a drug sale that resulted in a fatal overdose, along with other related drug charges, police said Monday.
Andrew Babowitch, 44, of Cummings Hill Road, entered his plea on Jan. 27 in Grafton County Superior Court to the charge of sale of a controlled drug with death resulting, according to the Plymouth Police Department.
The indictment by a Grafton County Grand Jury on July 19 also included multiple felony charges such as possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and buprenorphine with intent to distribute.
The case stems from a February 21 incident in Plymouth, which was part of an extensive investigation by local authorities into the distribution and sale of controlled drugs in the area.
Babowitch’s sentencing follows a series of press releases detailing drug investigations linked to a residence on Cummings Hill Road.
The Plymouth Police Department, led by Chief Alexander Hutchins, is continuing to work with area law enforcement agencies on the ongoing investigation.
The department anticipates further charges, arrests, and search warrants connected to the case.
Chief Hutchins urges the community to come forward with any information related to the case or other drug-related activities by contacting the Plymouth Police Department at (603) 536-1804.
