Manchester man charged with identity fraud, sexual assault

1 min read

MANCHESTER — A man impersonating 60-year-old Angel Rivera Laureano has been charged with identity fraud following a Manchester Police investigation that initially focused on allegations of child sexual abuse.

The suspect, referred to as John Doe, was brought into the limelight after the Manchester Police Juvenile Unit received a complaint in January of last year accusing him of sexually abusing a child under 13.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault.

During the sexual assault investigation, inconsistencies emerged regarding Doe’s identity.

Further police inquiry revealed that Doe had been living under Laureano’s identity for several years.

Under this assumed identity, he had been convicted of multiple offenses in New Hampshire over the past decade.

The real Angel Rivera Laureano was found and confirmed to be in Puerto Rico, leading to the additional charge of Identity Fraud against Doe.

Currently, Doe is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections on the sexual assault charge.

The true identity of the man known as John Doe remains a mystery.

Manchester Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
