WEBSTER — A maintenance worker at Slater Estates was arrested Monday following an investigation into a string of burglaries at the federally subsidized apartment complex for seniors and mobility-impaired individuals.
The Webster Police Department reported that Officers and Detectives had been receiving complaints over the last four months from Slater Estates residents about missing jewelry items.
At least four senior residents reported numerous items taken from their apartments.
Officer Patrick Trainor and Detective Timothy Whiting led the extensive probe, reviewing surveillance footage that captured the sole maintenance worker entering the apartments in question.
On Jan. 27, following the investigation, Webster Police interviewed 35-year-old Genc Hasani of Caroline St., Auburn, at the department headquarters.
Subsequently, Hasani was arrested and charged with four counts of breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony and four counts of felony larceny from a building.
Hasani was transported to the Dudley District Court and arraigned on all eight charges.
