DANBURY — A 20-year-old man was arrested by the Danbury Police Department on Jan. 17 in connection with a shooting incident at the Laurel Gardens Housing Complex earlier this month.
The suspect, who has not been named, was apprehended following a tip-off about the shooting, which occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 12 at 385 Main St.
Although officers found no evidence of a disturbance upon their initial arrival, a subsequent investigation uncovered a video showing a group involved in a physical altercation that escalated to gunfire.
The individual who reportedly fired the weapon during the incident is now being held on a $200,000 bond and is awaiting a court appearance.
Another person, who was present with the suspect during the altercation, turned himself in to authorities on Jan. 27.
Several juveniles involved in the incident have been identified but have not been charged with any criminal offenses.
The firearm used in the shooting has yet to be recovered, and authorities confirmed that no one was shot in the incident.
The Danbury Police Department continues its investigation and urges anyone with information to come forward.
