SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault after police responded to a 911 hang-up call on School Street in North Springfield on Jan. 5.
Officers arrived at the scene around 6:07 p.m. and determined that an assault had likely taken place.
The investigation led to the arrest of 35-year-old Jathniel Weiss of Springfield.
The victim of the assault required medical attention, and Weiss was taken into custody later that evening at 10:37 p.m.
He was processed at the Springfield Police Department, where he was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on Jan. 6.
Weiss was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 bail, as determined by the judicial system.
Investigating officers Ofc Freeman and Ofc Woodell are continuing to look into the incident.
