Somerville police report multiple break-ins, assaults in January

SOMERVILLE — Somerville police responded to several incidents of breaking and entering, assaults, and thefts in the first two weeks of January, according to department reports.

On Jan. 13 at 2:08 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Highland Road for a breaking and entering in progress.

Police found a male suspect inside the victim’s bedroom.

Nothing was reported missing.

Two days earlier, on Jan. 11 at 7:59 p.m., two bicycles were reported stolen from a basement on Victoria Street.

On Jan. 12 at 11:17 a.m., police responded to a residence on Spring Street where several tools were stolen from a basement in a past breaking and entering.

The department also reported multiple assaults.

On Jan. 7 at 1:09 p.m., officers responded to a road rage incident on Beacon Street where suspects allegedly threatened to stab the victim and threw a drink at the victim’s car.

On Jan. 10 at 11:38 p.m., police arrested a male suspect at a business on Elm Street after he allegedly struck another man in the head with a bottle during an argument.

Additionally, the department reported five package thefts, two car break-ins, and two bike thefts during this period.
