BOSTON — A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing last December in the Mattapan neighborhood, the Boston Police Department announced Monday.
Naysaan Austin, 29, of Dorchester, was arrested at approximately 7:53 a.m. on Monday near 1165 Blue Hill Avenue.
Austin was apprehended by officers from District B-3 after being identified as a suspect on a warrant from Dorchester District Court, where he is facing charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
The incident that led to Austin’s arrest occurred late in the evening on Dec. 23, when police responded to reports of a stabbing at 21 Fessenden Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a victim with a facial laceration.
The victim received on-site medical attention from Boston EMS but declined further treatment at a hospital.
Austin is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court regarding the charges against him.
The Boston Police Department has not released further details about the motive or circumstances leading to the stabbing.
